First Momentum Twitterview

Picture 3.pngOn Thursday, 9th of April, Grzegorz Kiszluk, chief editor of Polish most important marketing monthly magazine „Brief" did a Twitterview with Chris Weil, CEO Momentum Worldwide. It was the very first such an interview in Poland, and one could observe it at http://twitter.com/chrisweil or http://twitter.com/magazynbrief. The talk was mainly on such subjects as the changing marketing market situation in the 21st century, the new ways of reaching the consumers or new ways of client-agency co-operation.

The whole Twitterview here:

magazynbrief@ChrisWeil OK, here comes the hard one: What's the weather in NJC?

ChrisWeil@magazynbrief NYC is at its best in the spring 12 and sunny - how about WAW?

magazynbrief@ChrisWeil Well, poor you, we've got 18 :) So, I'd like to talk about BTL market in USA. Can you compare it with Poland? Have you been here?

ChrisWeil@magazynbrief I have been there, mkts v similar in that the divide b/w atl and btl is disappearing. its only about engagement

magazynbrief@ChrisWeil Are you saying that there is no point in differentiating ATL and BTL media?

ChrisWeil@magazynbrief ATL and BTL was the accounting def of commisionable and non com media - the consumer doesn't segment their brand experiences!

magazynbrief@ChrisWeil So why have we been splitting the media in this way? What will happen to the market players if we asume there is no "line"? :)

ChrisWeil@magazynbriefit is all abt how agencies get paid, as media commissions evaporate & fee based models tke hold agcies will get paid by results

magazynbrief@ChrisWeil OK, what media are most prospective and will engage the consumers at most in the future?

ChrisWeil@magazynbrief engagement only happens in 1 of 2 places-the physical space or the digital, this phygital convergence is what momentum does!

magazynbrief@ChrisWeil Then tell us more about the idea of Phygital.

ChrisWeil@magazynbrief we create ideas that play seamlessly between the real & virtual worlds that connect emotionally w/ the consumer & drive sales

magazynbrief@ChrisWeil Sounds great but does it work? Any examples? And who's the most responsive for that kind of communication?

ChrisWeil@magazynbrief it works! we can show real sales results which is what clients need in these times eg Coke Rewards or amex fashion network

magazynbrief@ChrisWeil Can you give my readers any hyperlinks to show your actvity in this Phygital area?

ChrisWeil@magazynbrief chk this out - for our client new balance https://www.seasoninthebala...

magazynbrief@ChrisWeil Thx! D'ya think the new tech can change whole traditional marketing? And how much?

ChrisWeil@magazynbrief I have to go mobile-heading to a meeting uptown. Will respond from my blackberry. so there may be a short delay. enjoying this

ChrisWeil@magazynbrief it has it will and it will only accelerate

magazynbrief@ChrisWeil Great. So I see that you wanna show me how flexible this new tools could be... :)

magazynbrief@ChrisWeil Let's get back to the point - what changes do you expect in the marketing activities?

ChrisWeil@magazynbrief less paid media- which changes the nature of ideas- that is where the biz is changing the most.we need new thinkers

magazynbrief@ChrisWeil You're CEO in Momentum Worldwide - how do you estimate readiness for changes in particular countries?

ChrisWeil@magazynbrief it use to be mkts dev at diff paces now its all happening at the same rate due to tech so we must chg the same everywhere

magazynbrief@ChrisWeil Should consumers be afraid of the upcoming changes? Or should await the benefits that will overcome the flaws?

ChrisWeil@magazynbrief just the opposite-the consumer is the beneficiary of these changes. They r the true owners of brands.that's the exciting part!

magazynbrief@ChrisWeil Coming back to the traditional marketing... Does reading Kotler make any sense anymore?

ChrisWeil@magazynbrief read everything old and new and take parts from all-thats my philosophy- there is no guidebook for these new times

magazynbrief@ChrisWeil But what about the client? He has still more&more possibilities and advisers. How to find the right way?

ChrisWeil@magazynbrief find an agency you trust and like and work w them.work together for greatness-don't just pitch & play the field.partner to win!

magazynbrief@ChrisWeil OK, but who's gonna "win" this client-agency partnership? Old ATL or BTL agencies?

ChrisWeil@magazynbrief the ones with the best ideas win! Signing off now I can't tweet and drive anymore! Thanks have a gr8 wknd

magazynbrief@ChrisWeil Thx for your time! I hope we'll have an opportunity to continue this conversation when you visit Poland. See you!

PS. Chris, thx for making this to happen :)
